The edit bay standard

Pegasus32 and Pegasus5 R12 give editors direct-attached RAID with the capacity of a shelf and the simplicity of a desktop drive. Hardware RAID means protection without taxing the workstation, and Thunderbolt means the timeline scrubs in real time — no proxies, no waiting on renders to copy.

Shoot, wrap, move on

The Pegasus M4 puts four protected bays in a palm-sized chassis. Offload cards on set, hand the unit to the editor, and keep shooting — the media is already redundant before the truck leaves the lot.

From suite to shared storage

When a project outgrows one seat, VTrak D5000 SAN arrays and J-series expansion take over: Fibre Channel or iSCSI block storage for MAM systems, render farms, and multi-suite facilities, with dual controllers so a component failure never stops a session.

FAQ

Media & Entertainment questions, answered

Which Pegasus fits a solo editor working in 4K?+

A Pegasus32 R6 or R8 covers most 4K codecs comfortably, with capacity for active projects plus recent archive. If you're grading 8K RAW or working in high-frame-rate formats, step up to the Pegasus5 R12 — more spindles means more sustained throughput.

Do Pegasus units work with both Mac and PC?+

Yes. The Pegasus32 and Pegasus5 lines support macOS and Windows over Thunderbolt 3/USB4. The R4i MPX module is the exception — it installs inside a 2019 Mac Pro specifically.

Can you help spec shared storage for a multi-seat facility?+

That's what we do. Tell us seat count, codecs, and whether you're FC or iSCSI, and our engineers will spec a VTrak configuration with the right controller, cache, and shelf mix — and quote drives pre-tested for the array.
